Vitassist is an online platform where patients can get medical advice from board-certified doctors and specialists anywhere in the world. It provides convenient and reliable access to medical advice, e-prescriptions, and personalized treatment plans.

Before our team's involvement, the testing was carried out by 1-2 manual testers, which was critically unsuccessful. Platform faced various issues related to functionality, user interface inconsistencies, and integration challenges. There was a significant need for structured testing to ensure the platform's reliability and user satisfaction.

For the project, we selected two QAs to automate existing manual test cases and create new ones:

Challenges	Solutions
High complexity and resource intensity	The team developed a separate test environment that fully simulated the real-world conditions of the platform, taking into account all regulatory requirements. This allowed testers to identify potential non-compliances early in the development process and prevent them from reaching the production environment
The need to support a multi-level encryption system	To maximize data security, we designed a multi-level data encryption system covering database, data transmission, and application-level encryption. Manual testers tested each layer, while automated tests ensured continuous monitoring and control of data integrity
Necessity to simulate the operation of the platform	Developed and implemented Integration test scenarios that simulated interactions with real medical systems and databases. Automated tests verified the correctness of data transfer and processing, while manual testers monitored and validated these processes to ensure the accuracy and completeness of the integration
The effectiveness of automated testing required a hybrid approach to testing	Adopted a hybrid approach, combining manual and automated testing. Automated tests were performed regularlyonr basis in the CI/CD Pipeline to ensure rapid defect detection, while manual testers performed more detailed and in-depth exploratory testing. This achieved high efficiency and test coverage while maintaining quality

Our testing team employed a variety of technologies, tools, and approaches to ensure the quality and efficiency of testing:

WebdriverIO+ JavaScript for automated browser testing to ensure interface consistency and functionality.
Appium for comprehensive mobile application testing.
BrowserStack enabled cross-browser testing to ensure UI consistency across different devices.
Jenkins supported continuous integration, automating the processes of building, testing, and deploying the application to ensure seamless development cycles.
Postman assisted with API testing and documentation, ensuring reliable and well-documented API interactions.
OWASP ZAP is used to identify and address security vulnerabilities.
TestRail was used to manage and execute detailed test scenarios.
SQL + JDBC for automated database testing, ensuring data integrity and consistency.

features of the project

For the Vitassist project, we conducted thorough security testing to protect patient data. We used OWASP ZAP to regularly check and fix security weaknesses. Tools were also used to detect issues in the software both before and during use.

We ensured data security through encryption methods and kept everything compliant with health regulations like HIPAA by performing regular checks. Strict access rules were set to prevent unauthorized data access.

TestRail helped manage testing scenarios, and BrowserStack ensured the interface worked well across different devices and browsers. Automated database tests maintained data integrity. As a result, the project became a high-quality, secure, and user-friendly e-commerce platform.
